In March of 2021 I wanted to celebrate my birthday by something that would give back to the community I loved so much. I went to get my grandpa new glasses at Moscot. We have been coming to Moscot since I was a kid. It was located across the street when I was a kid and then eventually they moved across the street to this new location. While I was waiting with my grandpa outside we were applaud at how badly the storefront was graffitied.
I later decided that painting over the graffiti for Moscot would be how I give back to the community. I gathered my friends and family and we had officers from the 7th precinct volenteer. It was a extremely cold day but with will and determination we finished painting over all the graffiti within 2-3 hours. It was a really great experience. Unfortunately the graffiti continued and Moscot was left with no choice but to move to a different location. Thankfully close by on the same block. All glass, and no walls for people to graffiti.
