Loisaida Lights was a collaboration idea with Kathleen Keen,
the President of 3rd street Block Association. We want to bring festive lights to the community like Dyker Heights or Little Italy. Kathleen and her association started putting up solar lights on the trees and poles on their block and I wanted to put up lights for the scaffolding surrounding the building I live in, so with that, Loisaida Lights was born. We hope next year more residents will participate and it becomes an annual event to look forward to for the community.
Holiday lights envoke feelings of happiness. Happiness leads to healing. We want to bring Healing Lights to the community of Lower East Side.
