About The Loisaida Foundry

What We Do

Since its founding in February 2021, The Loisaida Foundry Inc. has been dedicated to organizing community give-back events that foster engagement, empowerment, and healing for the Lower East Side. We’ve hosted and partnered on numerous events, including a graffiti clean-up with the local 7th precinct, an Easter celebration featuring free books, toys, Easter eggs filled with treats, and pizza—generously donated by community members—and fundraisers like a GoFundMe campaign supporting a local garden.Since its founding in February 2021, The Loisaida Foundry Inc. has been dedicated to organizing community give-back events that foster engagement, empowerment, and healing for the Lower East Side. One of our signature events is the annual fall festival, where we bring the charm of upstate pumpkin picking and the spirit of an old-school block party to the neighborhood. Each child receives a free pumpkin, a printed family photo, a small cup of apple cider, and a treat. This year's festival featured a mini classic car show, an arts and crafts activity, and commemorated the 50th anniversary of the NYCHA development named after Puerto Rican revolutionary Mariana Bracetti. The celebration included a photo exhibit honoring families who have played a significant role in the building’s history. One of our signature events is the annual fall festival, where we bring the charm of upstate pumpkin picking and the spirit of an old-school block party to the neighborhood.
